In a Christian community, the school needs to support the role of the church and the family. However, the school’s priority is the education of the covenant children and young people. The primary goal of the education is to build a Biblical worldview founded on enduring concepts and principles of truth. Therefore it is not the priority of ORCS to offer pre-vocational courses of study.
Courses are offered in the following disciplines:
- The Arts
- Business Studies
- Canadian and World Studies
- French as a Second Language
- Guidance and Career Education
- Religious Studies (Locally Developed)
- Social Studies and the Humanities
- Technological Education
The ORCS Secondary Choir practices most Wednesdays during lunch in the foyer. The acoustics are wonderful. The ORCS Chamber Choir also practices various days of the week after school.
Secondary students can be involved in a number of extracurricular options. Several educational field trips are planned for the various classes throughout the year. The ORCS Student Parliament organizes a skiing trip during the winter. Students can also participate in a variety of sports teams. ORCS has joined OCSAA, along with several other local Christian Schools. This allows the students to compete against other schools in soccer, basketball, floor hockey, volleyball, baseball and badminton. Intramurals during the lunch hour are definitely a student favourite.
