In a Christian community, the school needs to support the role of the church and the family. However, the school’s priority is the education of the covenant children and…
Welcome to the website of Oxford Reformed Christian School! We invite you to explore its features and learn more about our school.
Oxford Reformed Christian School is a parent-run school that provides a Christian education to over 300 students in Kindergarten through grade 12. We teach from a distinctly Reformed Christian perspective, and strive to prepare our students with the knowledge, skills, attitudes and Biblical worldview that will allow them to excel in their future and live God-glorifying lives. The instruction provided is Christ-centered, teacher-directed, and child-oriented. To God be the honour!
Oxford Reformed Christian School was established in the spring of 2005 as a parent-run school. The school membership elected the first School Board in April 2005. Board members come from several Reformed churches.
The elected School Board began their work immediately, and in only a few months time, teachers were hired, curriculum was chosen, and with much reason for thanksgiving, the school opened its doors to 116 students on September 6, 2005.
On September 5, 2017, the school began its 13th year of operation with 330 students.
Statement of Purpose & Faith
Statement of Purpose:
Oxford Reformed Christian School purposes to provide an academic education that: glorifies God and is founded on Biblical truths; requires the integration of those truths into all areas of life; encourages the development of the whole person; and, nurtures students to be discerning and responsible citizens of the community.
Statement of Faith:
The basis of the ORCS Society is the Word of God as written in the Old and New Testaments.
The school also holds to the historic Reformed confessions: The Belgic Confession of Faith, the Canons of Dordt, and the Heidelberg Catechism.
On the first school day of each week, the students gather in the gymnasium to hear from various speakers
who bring a message about the yearly theme. Each month focuses on a portion of this theme.
2017-2018 THEME: I AM Statements of Jesus
“I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me their is no Saviour.” (Isaiah 43:11)
The almighty God of the universe calls Himself IAM. Exodus 3:14 says, “And god said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM”. Moses had asked God what he should tell the people of Israel when they asked who sent him. God answered, “Tell them that I AM hath sent me unto you.” In the New Testament, the Lord Jesus reveals Himself as the divine “I AM” who was before Abraham (John 8:58). At the same time He uses His “I AM” statements to show what He has come to be in a dark world of death and separation from God. In this theme, we study Jesus’ “I AM” statements to learn who God is in Christ and what grace we may receive from Him in order to be right with God, enjoy His blessings ourselves, and be a blessing in this world.
The I AM Statements
I am the Bread of Life
I am the Good Shepherd
I am the Door
I am the Light of the World
I am the Way
I am the Truth
I am the Life
I am the Resurrection and the Life
I am the True Vine
I am the Alpha and the Omega
